Shes a 14 year old girl, and rides better than the boys. Heres the official recap.

Oklahoma Wake Series 1st Annual River Fest

Well another fantastic tournament, thank you all that attended and all that competed at Oklahoma Wake Series First Annual River Fest. We had such a great time! And thanks to all that came out for the Body Glove Premier of Slick City, at City Walks famous Night Club,  what a great night of memory making………. Lots of laughs!! (Crammed in and stuck in the elevator between floors is all I’m going to say!!!)

The competition is heating up, our divisions are getting so much bigger and the athletes so much better! For those of you that attended and competed you know that if you aren’t doing a tantrum in Novice your feet won’t land on the podium……. And the guys found out this past weekend that girl wakeboarders can rock your socks off, Katelyn Fenner stole first place fair and square out of the guy’s hands, with her clean passes and bankroll! Jared Owens gets most improved in Novice with his first ever Tantrum, he landed it and rode off, great job! But don’t get too comfortable because Mitch, Gavin, Chris, Landon and the rest of the Novice riders are just a few points away…….it’s a tight competition!

Our Grom riders are coming in strong as well,  looks like in the city of Yukon they are practicing a lot, with Jake Smith Mat Doke and Jaxen Gilmore filling up the spots on the podium and all having Yukon addresses someone’s putting hours on a boat…….. Great job guys! Keep up the wake to wakes, grabs and surface tricks, heel side and toe side! Most improved in this division goes to Braden Allen this last weekend, keep up the good work Braden!!

Another intense spot of competition is in our Expert Division……… Okay so these guys are kicking my butt!! Just when you think you got a solid run in and feel good about yourself, Gunner Daft throws an awesome run which included a wrapped KGB, Joey Bagnaro heel off 3, toe 5, Indy tantrum and a scarecrow and then Robert Dunlap killed it with 6 different inverts and 3 different spins, which included a 3 and 540.………Has anyone figured out where the Dunlaps came from?!? They are awesome riders!!!! Go Dunlaps!!!! Corey Anderson represented the OSU Wakeboarding Team well with his awesome riding! Chandler Frost is one to watch as well, he is a sick rider and has just dialed in his toe side three, and don’t overlook the Branch guys, and the Chestnuts because they are practicing and ready to take over their division Title wins…………….

We missed out on Taylor Kress’ awesome riding this weekend, due to a non-wakeboarding injury, but Conner Bitton, Colt Leonard, Ryan Anderson, Todd Forrest, and Matt McCaleb had us all standing on the shore line cheering them on and wanting more, these guys are so incredible to watch! Taylor won our Pro Division the first stop and I’m sure he will be back strong as ever to win stop number 3,Boomer Blast, so enjoy the victory while you can guys…….

So I think we might have been the first tournament that World Champion Wakeboarder Harley Clifford competed and won first place in the Wake Skate Open Division!! The guy is phenomenal on a board in the water……… So CONGRATULATIONS Harley on taking 1st Place!!

Caleb, Rachel, Nate, Mitch and the rest of the wakeskaters can have your Division back now that we have Harley in Orlando, he’s strapped into a board again so the skate is all yours!

Please keep checking back here with us as we are getting our standings for the last tournament organized and the standings for the “Series” posted. The competitor receives points for the position that they finish in at every tournament, so even if someone finishes dead last, they receive points for showing up and competing and some points are better than no points! We will get these “Series” results posted today and you will see where you and your competition are in the standings, for the overall Oklahoma Title win in your Division.

We are in full swing ahead for our next event at Stillwater July 3rd and 4th at Boomer Lake! This event will be like no other event we have had yet, no one has ever been granted access to this lake for a wakeboarding competition and we are so honored and stoked that we get to throw down a great competition in such an awesome location. We have great vendors lined up for this event and great entertainment on the water and off! Remember Kicker will be supplying ALL of our prizes, except for Pro Division, they like the gas money…….
